Setting up StoreViewer for the first time

Before you start
You'll need:
- StoreViewer downloaded and installed on your Mac (find the download link in your purchase confirmation email, or visit storeviewer.app/download)
- Your license key (included in your purchase confirmation email from Lemon Squeezy)
- The base URLs for each regional storefront you want to view
Step 1 — Open StoreViewer and activate your license
Open StoreViewer from your Applications folder. On first launch, you'll be prompted to enter your license key.
Paste the key from your purchase confirmation email and click Activate. StoreViewer contacts the license server to validate your key and tie it to this device. Once confirmed, you'll land on the main app window.
If you see a Gatekeeper warning when opening the app, see Gatekeeper warning on Mac when opening StoreViewer for how to bypass it — it's a one-time step.
Step 2 — Add your regional storefronts
Click the Settings icon in the toolbar to open the configuration modal, then go to the Regions tab.
For each region you want to view, add its base URL — this is the root address of that storefront, without any page path. For example:
| Region | Base URL |
|---|---|
| Australia | https://www.yourbrand.com.au |
| United States | https://www.yourbrand.com |
| New Zealand | https://www.yourbrand.co.nz |
| International | https://www.yourbrand.com/eu |
You can add as many regions as you need — there's no cap. Give each one a short name (e.g. AU, US, NZ) so it's easy to identify in the pane toolbar.
Click Save when you're done.
Step 3 — Choose your layout
StoreViewer offers four layout modes, switchable from the toolbar at any time:
- Grid — panes arranged in a grid (default, good for 3+ regions)
- Side by side — panes in a horizontal row
- Stacked — panes in a vertical column
- Focus — a single pane fills the window
For most setups, Grid is the best starting point. You can switch layouts at any time without losing your regions or settings.
Step 4 — Load a page across all regions
Type a page path into the URL bar at the top of the app — for example /collections/all or /products/shoes — and press Enter.
StoreViewer combines that path with each region's base URL and loads them all simultaneously. You'll see all your storefronts open side by side, showing the same page.
From here you can:
- Scroll any pane to scroll all panes together (synced scrolling is on by default)
- Click any link in a pane to navigate all regions to that page at once (follow navigation)
- Press ⌘R to reload all panes at the same time
- Toggle regions on or off using the region chips in the toolbar if you want to focus on specific stores
You're set up
Your regions, layout, and settings are saved automatically and will be restored the next time you open StoreViewer — you won't need to re-enter anything.
A few things worth exploring next:
- Saved profiles — if you also want to view competitor storefronts, you can save your current setup as a profile and create a second profile for competitors. Switch between them in one click from the toolbar dropdown. See Using saved profiles to switch between your stores and competitor sites.
- Mobile view presets — toggle all panes to iPhone, Android, or iPad widths to check responsive layouts across regions.
- Dual screen — if you have a second monitor, click Open second screen window to drag region panes across both displays.
